Cooking in the kitchen!!! By Jake Hussey

“Johnny have you washed your hands yet?” “No not yet mum.” “Well you can’t start cooking until you’ve washed your hands.” “I know mum!” Page 1

First you need to get your ingredients. We will need a tin of two fruits, an apple, a banana, a bunch of grapes, a punnet of strawberries, an orange and a kiwi fruit. Page 2

First Johnny gets a very big serving bowl and tip in the two fruits. He then gets out he’s chopping board and chopping knife. He then gets the peeler and peel the apple. Then he dices the apple into smaller pieces. Page 3

Page 4 Steve then gets out the grapes. He gets each grape and cut them in half. You’ve got to remember to do the claw with your fingers so you don’t cut them off!

Page 5 Mum then gets out the strawberries and cut the tops off them. This is because the leaves on the top don’t taste nice. She then cuts them in half and then in half again.

Page 6 “Now on to the orange” says mum. “Can I do it?” asks Johnny. “Ok!” “What you have to do is peel the skin off the orange and then dice them into smaller pieces.” “Seems easy” Johnny replies.

Page 7 “We will then need to get the kiwi fruit take off the skin and dice it into smaller pieces. Who would like to do that?” “ME!” says Johnny. “Make sure to do the bridge with your fingers!” says Mum.

Page 8 Last but not least the banana! You need to peel the skin and then slice it into smaller pieces. Then you place it into the serving bowl with all the other ingredients. It is then ready to serve. Make sure you refrigerate it though!!!
