Emily Mikesell

 Started in 1875  Founder Alexander Graham Bell's invention of the telephone.  AT&T became the parent company of the Bell System › The Bell System provided what was by all accounts the best telephone service in the world.

 The system broke up into eight companies in 1984  From 1984 until 1996 AT&T was an integrated telecommunications services and equipment company

 Global Headquarters › Dallas, Texas

 Employees Worldwide › 256,210

 Telephones  U-Verse  Hot Spots  Digital TV  Internet

 Wireless services › Cell phones  Home Phones  Cable  Internet › WiFi

 Define: › A portion of a company's earnings, decided by the board of directors, to a class of its shareholders. › Most often quoted in terms of the dollar amount each share receives (dividends per share). › It can also be quoted in terms of a percent of the current market price, referred to as dividend yield.

 $31.52 per share › High : › Low:  Yearly: › High :$31.97 › Low :$27.29  $0.44 per dividend

 S: Strength  W: Weakness  O: Opportunity  T: Threat

 Strengths › Strong brand image  It is a worldwide known business and everyone knows about it › Top market position  They have one of the highest position in the stock › Strong financial position  It does very well financially because so many people are part of AT&T

 Weakness’ › Lack of content  They do not have enough to supply › Geographic concentration  They don’t have enough towers › Poor reception and service  They need more towers

 Opportunities › Expanding U-verse fiber network  It will be able to expand making it more profitable › Investments in global networks for business services  It invests in other networks so that will decrease their competition and increase sales › Acquirements  They get more buisness

 Threats › Intense competition  There are other cell phone companies such as Verizon › Circulation in the wireless market  People are always changing their cell phones › Government regulations  Government only allows so much for wireless companies

 I would probably not buy the stock right now because it is almost at the yearly high. I would rather buy when it is lower so then I could not lose as much or make more money.

 Personally I would not use AT&T because I think Verizon is better, it gets better coverage. AT&T is not really a cell phone carrier that a lot of people do not use and it was stated that they do not get very good service.

 million AT&T wireless customers  16.5 broadband connections in service  12 million connected devices  30% households use AT&T  20.3 billion AT&T capital investment

 218,354 WiFi hot spots  3.6 mil AT&T U-Verse subscribers  80% USA population uses AT&T mobile broadband  20.1 million AT&T business data subscribers
