This building was made between 1685 and When you go inside the building you are surprised by the large collection of fine art and one of the oldest clocks in the world, which was donated to the town by King Phillip the 2 nd of Spain.

Copan Copan is an old city that used to be run by the Maya Civilization. Copan is located in the western part of Honduras and not far from Guatemala. This used to be the capital of Honduras until their king was captured and executed around AD 738. In present day the eastern side of Copan is eroded because of the Copan River.

Lempira Lempira was a Lenca chief and a warrior. In October 1537 he unified over 200 tribes who had been ancient rivals. He did this so there would be resistance against penetration by the Spanish. Governor Montejo ordered an attack on their stronghold but it was impenetrable. Lempira died by being invited to a peace conference and was assassinated by a hidden marksmen.
