Life Cycle of a Star

Nebula All stars no matter what size begin as Nebulas Nebulas are huge clouds of dust and gas 

Protostars The dust and gas in a nebula pulls together into a sphere The sphere becomes so hot that nuclear reactions occur A star is born! ***Congrats!!! It’s a girl!

Sizes of stars Small and Medium stars SUN ___________________ Giants and Supergiants Monocerotis 

Medium and Small Stars Expand hundreds of times their size as they run out of fuel and become Red Giants Soon most of the gas dissipates (goes away)

White Dwarf/Black Dwarf All that is left is a White-Hot Core called a White Dwarf Once it cools it becomes a Black Dwarf The star is now officially dead R.I.P. 

Giant and Super Giant Stars Explode a.k.a. SUPERNOVA when they burn all of their fuel

Black Hole or a Neutron Star? Small giants become Neutron Stars Supergiants become Black Holes
