Federal Employees Have Rights And NTEU Protects Them

It’s true! Federal employees have rights granted in federal law and your NTEU contract

Know them, Use Them You have to know your rights to enforce them Let’s see how well you know your rights!

Were you: Passed over for promotion? Not given a shot at overtime? Is there a right for that? Yes! You have a right to be treated fairly and equitably

Watch out! Your workplace should not be full of hazards Why? You have a right to a safe environment

Mistreated just because of who you are? What rights do you have? NTEU will help you stand up to discrimination or harassment

No fear! If you file a complaint, can a manager retaliate? No! You have a right to be free from retaliation.

Hey! You can’t tell people that! Do federal employees have a right to privacy? Yes! Your privacy is important and you have a right to keep confidential information private.

I support Candidate Jane for Congress Can you publicly support a candidate for political office? Yes! You can take part fully in the political process away from your job and the worksite

Those rights are guaranteed to you by federal law. But wait! There’s more. Your NTEU contract has more rights. Here are just a few…

You want to succeed at work What rights do you have to help you? You have the right to have your job expectations explained clearly to you.

Would working at home some days be helpful? You have a right to telework if you meet the conditions outlined in the NTEU contract.

If your appraisal wasn’t what you expected What can you do? You have the right to challenge it

Under investigation at work? Call NTEU first! Why? You have the right to representation during an investigatory interview that may lead to discipline.

If you want to file a grievance Where do you start? With NTEU. We can tell you if you have a good one and we will represent you.

Finally…Join Us You have the right to join NTEU and participate fully in making your workplace better for you and your co-workers.

Your Rights and Your Workplace Protected by NTEU
