Integrated Math 4 Introduction Instructor: Mrs. Tyrpak

Hello Everyone! My name is… Mrs. Tyrpak Pronounced… “Tear-Pack”

Congratulations! You have made it through Integrated Math 1, 2, and 3! That is quite a feat! You now have a solid foundation in reasoning with and problem solving with many different types of relations and functions.

Integrated Math 4 Goals: The learner will be able to 1.Operate with complex numbers and vectors to solve problems 2.Describe geometric figures in a coordinate plane algebraically 3.Analyze data to solve problems 4.Use relations and functions to solve problems

Sound familiar? While Integrated Math 4 will review many topics from previous math courses, we will extend many of them in order to deepen our understanding. Be prepared to think critically and work hard. This course will prepare you for even higher levels of math!

Sound different? We will work much more with trigonometric functions than you have in the past, as well as lay a foundation of limits and derivatives that will get you ready for any Calculus course in the future.

What to expect… 1.A video lesson explaining each topic 2.An extension worksheet to complete (skill and drill) 3.An enrichment worksheet to complete (critical thinking) 4.Time expectation for each lesson from start to finish: 1.5 – 2.5 hours

Perseverance is needed! This level of math begins to get very challenging. My advice is to stick with it! Sometimes if you get frustrated…take a break…then come back. Many times this will help the information sink in and start to make sense!

Thanks! I look forward to teaching you. I trust you will work hard, ask your classmates questions when you do not understand, and do your best to complete all assignments to the best of your ability!
