Must be used when you are writing about someone else’s ideas or referencing another person’s research, writing, creation, etc. Citations coordinate with your Works Cited page Example: Sloths are often found with algae in their fur, which provides them with a protective camouflage (“Two Toed Sloths”). At the end of your paper, list all of the sources you used in a Works Cited page. Sources are formatted in a specific way and called “citations.” Works Cited Page
Each type of source such as books, journal articles, newspapers, magazines, websites, and images require specific information to be cited correctly.

These pieces are combined in a certain order with punctuation to create the book’s citation. Basic Book Format: Author’s Last Name, Author’s First Name. Title. Place of Publication: Publisher, Copyright Date. Medium of Publication. Example Book Citation
