The Big Problem Rising costs of health care have made the problem worse and get out of hand Medical debt contributes to 42% of all personal bankruptcy Ten years ago, the US healthcare system was declared "broken," and it has not improved. Lack of health insurance causes roughly 18,000 unnecessary deaths every year in the U.S
