♦National Delta Tau Alpha newsletter ♦ October 2003 ♦ Trick or Treat! Meet your Eastern Region Vice President I am a Junior at Tennessee Technological University studying Environmental Agri-science. I am very active in the School of Agriculture here at Tech. As an Eagle Scout, I serve in several leadership positions including President of the Agriculture Council, Senator in the Student Government Association, and chairman of several other university committees. Currently I am involved with intramural football, our local DTA chapter and I serve as co-editor of the Aggie Contact, (a College of Agriculture newsletter.) I have been actively involved with the Collegiate FFA, Alpha Lambda Delta, and the Student Government Association. I have had the honor to be an official support runner for the 2002 Winter Olympic Torch Relay. On a relaxing note, I enjoy hunting and fishing as well as gardening. To me, there is no better place to spend the day than outside. My favorite color is green. I enjoy cooking, especially over an open fire. Another hobby of mine is camping. As far as my plans, my goal is to get a Master’s in something dealing with Agriculture, Environmental Science or Fisheries. At this time, I do not know where I will go to continue my schooling. However, I plan to reach my goal one way or another. Matt Levi Eastern Region Vice-President

Chapter’s Happenings Angelo State is collecting goods for the Hope House "When tillage begins, other arts follow. The farmers are therefore the founders of human civilization." President’s Corner Howdy Ya’ll, The National Council just had our Mid-year meeting. It was really good to see everyone again. We talked about convention and I urge everyone, if possible, to go. I know the registration fee is a little higher this year, but all of our meals will be provided by NC State. (and look at the menu) It will definitely be worthwhile and we will have lots of fun. Brian VanDelist National President Don’t Forget Check out your National To submit Form 40’s after every meeting so that you can be included in Chapter Chatters.
