 evaluate the needs for student instruction in light of Pennsylvania’s transition to the new PA Common Core Standards  recommend implementation materials to support the new direction for curriculum  provide support for teachers: professional development and implementation  recommend ways to support students along their learning journeys

 PA Transition to Common Core State Standards Assessment  – Regular PSSA test  – Common Core test for Grades 3–5, Regular PSSA test in Grades 6-8  – Common Core test for Grades 6-8  Professional Development needs – deepening students’ conceptual knowledge of content  Communicating with Parents – helping parents to understand the difference between traditional ‘teaching’ and teaching to facilitate learning.

 Data Analysis  Where are our strengths and weaknesses?  How can we capitalize on our strengths and improve upon our weaknesses?  Materials Evaluation  To what degree will different materials help us achieve our teaching and learning goals?  Supplemental Materials Evaluation  How can we differentiate and individualize instructions to support students?  School Site Visits  Who is successful? What programs do they use? What do their learning environments look like?
