This may be the one, This may be the King, This may be the Lord of Light Of whom the prophets sing…

See the little baby lying there. These gifts we bring: Gold, frankincense and myrrh. Gold for He is King, frankincense for God, Myrrh for He will give His Life To save all on this Earth…

Introduction: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Today we will light 3 candles from our Advent Wreath as a symbol of the weeks in Advent. Blessing of the Wreath: Today we light the Shepherds Candle, it reminds us that we share our love of Jesus with many other people. Some are rich and famous and others are poor and sometimes hungry, each one has a very special place in the eyes of God.

Third week of Advent: Joy This third week of advent we light the pink candle which means joy. From Jesus Christ we have received so much love, beauty, and joy from the simple things in life. This week let us be happy with simple things that don’t cost money- like reading a book instead of watching tv. This third week of advent we light the pink candle which means joy. This week let us be happy with simple things that don’t cost money- like reading a book instead of watching tv. Remember that the purple candles stand for sorrow that we have done wrong. But now we are joyful, because the time for the arrival of Jesus is almost here. Remember that the purple candles stand for sorrow that we have done wrong. But now we are joyful, because the time for the arrival of Jesus is almost here.

Together: Oh Lord, this is a time for caring and sharing, a time for smiling and singing, a time for rejoicing in life itself. Let us open our hearts fully to others. Let our faces radiate the joy of Your coming so that everyone we meet will know of You and the gift of life You bring. Jesus, our Lord, we rejoice in Your coming. Amen.

Response: Our response to the blessings is: Come Lord Jesus Show me your paths and teach me to follow; Show me your paths and teach me to follow; Guide me by Your truth and instruct me. You keep me safe and I always trust you. All: Come Lord Jesus

You are honest and merciful, And you teach sinners how to follow your path. You lead humble people to do what is right and to stay on your path. path. All: Come Lord Jesus.

Concluding Prayer: God of grace and promise, be with us during this advent season when we gather together as a Catholic community for the preparation of Jesus’ birth. We ask you to bless our Advent wreath and all who are around it, may it remind us of the first coming of Jesus. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
