Why does change occur? Workforce need to re-skill Developing attitudes towards one another Organisational structure Change in the type of employment Changing procedures

What Changes? Organisational Structure Work Patterns Internal procedures

Reactions to change General fear, but why? Loss of jobs Reduction in status and job satisfaction Changes in organisational structure Distrust of ICT Lack of ICT knowledge and therefore self confidence Change in location

Successful Management There is no one way, but here are some hints and tips Encourage participation Training Explain why Share information Be patient Leave choices Small steps Minimise surprises

Successful Management cont. Lead from the front Make requirements clear Encourage workforce Rewards pioneers Compensate people for extra time Avoid creating losers Allow nostalgia (ish) Don’t underestimate costs Choose the correct conversion method
