How do aeroplanes move??

The historic flashback

Men and flights… Greek Myth: Daedalus and Icarus 1485: Leonardo da Vinci – Ornithopter 1783: Montgolfier brothers – First Hot Air Balloon 1903: Wright brothers – The first flight 21 st Century: Boeing 787 and Stealth Fighter

Science…

The four forces during the flight Weight – Lift –Thrust - Drag The four forces act in the aeroplane during the flight and each one is the opposite of the other.

Drag is the force which is created when a solid moves on a liquid (air).

Weight is the opposite of lift Weight pushes the aeroplane towards the centre of the Earth.

In order for the airplane to accelerate during the flight, thrust has to be of higher rate than drag. In order for the aeroplane to take off, lift has to be of higher rate than weight.

Which aeroplane accelerates? Which one reduces speed?
