WWII Posters The US, Great Britain, and France Vs. Japan, Germany, and Italy

What was WWII? A war between the US and British Forces against Japan, Italy and Germany. Many other countries were involved on both sides.

How was Art important in this war? The US Government used propaganda to get people excited and to support the war.

What is propaganda? Posters, speeches, TV ads, music, and events used to get people to support the war.

Why was propaganda needed? Some people did not support the war. Others had loved ones off at the war. They needed to get women to join the work force to keep America going while the men were gone.

What is Realism and how can we achieve it? Realism is when a piece of art looks like the object that it is trying to imitate. Think of a photograph when you think of realism.
