National Ambient Air Quality Standard Update New Sulfur Dioxide Non-Attainment Area – Effective October 4, 2013 Ozone Secondary Standard

Secondary standard set to protect public welfare including damage to animals, crops, vegetation, and buildings. The 2008 standard set the same level for the primary and secondary standard On July 23, 2013 the DC Court of Appeals remanded the secondary standard to U.S. EPA

Air Quality Mapping Three interactive maps provide monitoring data for sites across Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties. Levels of pollutants shown in real-time Customized views show hourly concentrations of pollutants allowing the user to select a parameter, date, time frame and view one or multiple sites

Near Road Monitoring Site Site result of requirement in Nitrogen Dioxide NAAQS rule Monitoring to be implemented by January 1, sites in Ohio: Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati Site selection based on several factors Average Annual Daily Traffic County Fleet Mix (different fuels) Congested areas Population

Near Road Monitoring

Parameters to be included Nitrogen Dioxide Carbon Monoxide - January 1, 2017 PM2.5 - January 1, 2017 Federal Reference Method Sampler Particulate counter – real time particulate count Traffic Camera Meteorology Black Carbon

Ozone Season 2013 vs : Two exceedances of the 8-hour standard May 15 & June : Eighty exceedances of the 8 hour standard 2013: No Smog Alerts Issued : Twelve Smog Alerts Issued 2012
