All About Rocks

There are 3 types of rocks: -Igneous rocks -Sedimentary rocks -Metamorphic rocks

Igneous rocks are created within the earth’s crust. Magma (molten rock) cools and hardens making igneous rocks.

Metamorphic rocks are formed when existing rocks are changed due to heat or pressure.

Sedimentary Rocks are made of sediment, tiny grains of sand, clay, or bits of other rocks. The sediment settles at the bottom of lakes, rivers, or oceans, and slowly hardens over time.

The Rock Cycle

Rock Cycle Song (Sing to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat") SEDIMENTARY rock Has been formed in layers Often found near water sources With fossils from decayers Then there's IGNEOUS rock Here since Earth was born Molten Lava, cooled and hardened That is how it’s formed These two types of rocks Can also be transformed With pressure, heat and chemicals METAMORPHIC they'll become.
