2. Sedimentary rocks Sedimentary rocks are made of sediments. Most sedimentary rocks form when sediments are compacted or cemented together. Some sedimentary rocks are crystals and minerals that can dissolve in water.

3. Igneous Rock  Igneous rock is formed after melted rock hardens.  Lava turns into igneous rock.  Igneous rock is magma before it hardens and cools.

4. Metamorphic Rocks A metamorphic rock is a rock made by heat and pressure Slate is a type of metamorphic rock. Metamorphic rocks are just rocks the have been “morphed” into a different rock.
