The Violin a presentation for the 3rd grade classes of Sunset School James Compton ECOMP 6016 vi·o·lin The violin is a hallow wooden box with an elegant neck and four strings. The violinist’s right hand glides or bounces a bow made of horse hair across the strings to produce a sound. The violin is capable of making two very different sounds. It can be played by plucking the strings with your fingers (pizzicato) or by playing with a bow (arco).
