Something Wicked This Way Comes Part II: Pursuits Chapters 26-35

Chapter Twenty Five Miss Foley knows that something is wrong with the nephew. But, she wants him to help her. She is planning using her ticket for the carousel, where she will find happiness.

Chapter Twenty Six Will argues with his friend, telling Jim he does not really want to be older, but Jim does not agree. Miss Foley is talking to Will's father about the break-in at her house. After a few moments of speaking she asks where the boys are if they are innocent.

Chapter Twenty Seven Mr. Halloway walks the boys home. He knows that his son is innocent,. Will tells him that Miss Foley wants them guilty for some reason Will promises he will tell his dad in a few days

Chapter Twenty Eight Will thinks that being good means being happy, and his father explains that being good is difficult. Will warns his father not to go near the carnival

Chapter Twenty Nine Will sleeps for one hour before he wakes up. He and Jim both open their windows at the same time and both see a balloon above them. They see the Dust Witch inside the basket. The boys realize that the Wax Witch, is alive, and, she can sense people, feeling out their souls. She paints a huge silver line on Jim's house. Will grabs a hose and the boys wash off the line. She was marking the house for Mr. Dark

Chapter Thirty Will gets out his Boy Scout archery set The Witch approaches him. Will throws his arrow at the balloon. He sits in the tree and watches the rip in the balloon widen and the witch shoot off out of control.

Chapter Thirty One Nothing else happens that night.

Chapter Thirty Two Early in the morning, Miss Foley hears the carousel music and goes to the carnival. Later in the morning Jim and Will see a little girl crying. They go to Miss Foley's house and when she is not there, they are sure that the little girl must be their teacher.

Chapter Thirty Three Mr. Halloway answers the phone, and Will tells him that he and Jim may not be home that night.

Chapter Thirty Four Will and Jim hide from the carnival underneath the iron grille. The carnival parade stops in front of the store. All the carnival people begin to hunt through the streets for Jim and Will. They saw what the carousel did and now, Mr. Dark wants them.

Chapter Thirty Five Mr. Dark comes up to Mr. Halloway and tells him that two boys have been chosen to be special guests of the carnival. He holds up his hands and a picture of Will is tattooed on one palm and Jim on the other. Will's father says he cannot help and the Illustrated Man comes back and asks him for his name. Halloway tells him the truth, where he works. Will's father tells the boys to hide and then come to the library at seven.
