The Future of Agency Relations and Program Services Status of Current North Texas Food Bank Programs Future Program Service Projects Member Agency Policy Changes Highlight Current Agency Features

Food Stamp Outreach Provide general assistance in explaining the application process. Assists with completing applications, gathering interview information, and providing pending/missing information. Serve as pick- up and drop- off point for applications.

Summer Feeding Supplemental Program Provides a hot meal to school aged children during the summer An extension of the school lunch program after school is over Operating three sites in Dallas county

Food 4 Kids Received a donation from Frito Lay for $185,000 on May 1, 2006 Program will expand from 15 to 60 schools in Fall 2006 Program targets chronically hungry school aged children throughout our service area, and provides a weekly sack of nutritious snack items through the weekend

Future Program Service Projects Agency University –Will offer monthly workshops on various topics ranging from “How to operate a client choice food pantry” to “Grant Writing and Fundraising” –Key workshops will be designed as required follow up after a monitoring visit –Published monthly schedule of classes and fees

Future Program Service Projects Agency Council –Representatives from various communities served by Member Agencies in the NTFB service area –Provide input into the decisions made by NTFB management –Act as the liasons for the entire NTFB network

Future Program Service Projects Community Networks –Increase the efficiency of each individual food program of which it is composed, so that the community will be better served –Pooling resources together, share information, and strengthening skills among participants

Member Agency Policy Changes Ordering Procedures –As of January 1, 2007 all Member Agencies will be required to submit weekly food orders using Agency Express, the online ordering system –Agency’s unable to access the internet, will have the opportunity to apply for a new computer in Fall 2006
