Today’s lesson is… Writing a Series of Paragraphs Expressing an Opinion a.k.a. “The Essay”

Step 1 – Decide whether you agree or disagree with the topic question / statement Is it a good idea for high school students to have a part-time job?

Step 2 - Turn the question into a statement. Example: Is it a good idea for high school students to have a part-time job? Becomes: I believe it is important for every high school student to have a part-time job.

Step 4 – Turn your web into paragraphs Introduction – Be sure to indent Notice that the three topics from the web are mentioned right in the introduction.

Conclusion – Be sure to indent Note that your conclusion would not need to be this long, but try to re-state your main statement.
