Analysis  Then, we gathered together to share our observation results.  We presented what we have seen and what the problems we thought they could be.  At this moment, we made lots of notes about problems, that seems to be brainstorming…

Brainstorming for problems  As I talked before, we took lots of notes about problems we had found.  Stick them on a wall…  We chose only 10 big problems among much more things.

Picture of problem notes

Vote  Since we had 10 big problems that we had to choose 3 of them to focus on.  We vote for them.  Then we chose “boredom”, ”route planning” and “non-locals”.

Brainstroming for concepts  Since we had concentrated on the 3 main problems, we started another round of brainstorming to find some design concepts about these problems. play wagondouble speed  About “boredom” issue, we came up with 2 creative concepts: play wagon & double speed. automatic route planning machine.  About “route planning” & “non-locals” issues, we found 1 concept: automatic route planning machine.

Six hats  After warm discussion, we decided to choose the concept “play wagon”.  The reason is: 1. “Double speed” –too unrealistic. Black hat. 2. “Automatic route planning machine” –only minor portion of customers may use this. Black hat. 3. “play wagon” –very creative things that may be very attractive. Green hat.

Play wagon  A train which has carriages embedded with many pleasure things. For instance, movie carriage or video game carriage.  This can make the trip underground more interesting and more attractive.  Also, advertisements could be introduced in these carriages, which will be profitable for both public transportation department and commercial communities.

Automatic route planning machine  A machine that can be used to look up route information.  It is often used by the new passengers or non-locals.

Double speed  2 parallel trains  One is always moving  The other is used to let passengers get on, it is hooked when the left train arrives.  Unhooked when arrives at next station.  Reduce the waiting time

The end  Special thanks to Fenni Kang.  Thank you for your attention!
