Description – A first course in microcomputer programming emphasizing both numeric and string processing, and structured programming. (Visual BASIC and Delphi) using IBM compatible computers. Fall, Spring. Credit, 3 semester hours. PREREQ: CSC 1000, or permission of instructor. – This course focuses on the design, implementation, and testing of web sites. The students will learn basic HTML and use Dreamweaver and other editors to implement web sites. Course Description

Course Content – Basic HTML – Tools to Create Web Siges – Web Site Design – Best Practices – Dreamweaver 8 – Page Layout – Web Site Testing Goals – Understand basic HTML – Determine web site requirements – Understand web site best practices – Use web site editors – Identify web site testing techniques Syllabus Objectives By the end of the semester the student will be able to: Recognize and define HTML tags – Identify and define web site best practices – Evaluate web site requirements – Analyze web site implementations for compliance with best practices – Evaluate web site test plans

Exams and Projects The final exam is comprehensive. Other than the final, a midterm exam will be given during class hours. Several homework problems will be assigned. All assignments must be completed by the due date. Late homework is accepted, but there will be penalty points deducted. Homework assignments are individual and not group assignments, unless stated otherwise. Syllabus (cont.)

Grading Policy You are responsible for all material covered in class even if you are absent. The final grade will be a weighted average of the scores in the tests, homework, programming assignments, and the final exam. – Homework30% – Midterm Exam30% – Final Exam40% Final Grades 93 – 100 = A88 – 89 = B+78 – 79 = C+68 – 69 = D+ Below 60 = F 90 – 92 = A-83 – 87 = B73 – 77 = C63 – 67 = D 80 – 82 = B-70 – 72 = C-60 – 62 = D- Attendance Policy Attendance will be checked. To get a passing grade in the course you should attend at least 90% of the classes. Less than 90% attendance will adversely affect your grade. Syllabus (cont.)

Course Meetings This course is project oriented. The class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. Fridays are designated project days. I will be available during the class period, but the class will not meet.
