Geriatrics is the turn for saying old or elderly people. It come from Greek, “geron” meaning “old man” and “iatros” meaning “healer.”, however geriatric is something called medical gerontology. Both of the meanings fit, because both terms mean health care of elderly.

It’s the study of the social, psychological and biological aspects of aging. It is distinguished from geriatrics, which is the branch of medicine that studies the diseases of older adults.

Alzheimer’s is an illness one in ten people over the age of 65, and nearly half of those over the age of 85 can get. Over 19 million American said that they have a family member have that disease. Alzheimer’s is a disorder that attacks the brain. The result of disorientation, with impaired memory, thinking, and judgment.

Geriatricians are the primary-care physicians who are board-certified in either family medicine or internal medicine. Family members, nurses, Caregivers

NO one can stop aging, But there are medications, and programs. Elderly people mostly take multiple medication subscribed by doctors. Everyone will eventually get old and pass away.

Medical doctor’s acquired the additional training necessary to obtain the Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in geriatric medicine.

During my research I found that everyone is not covered by insurance. The hospital bills are not going down. Tax payer pay some of this money but it doesn’t cover everything, So, medical bills left unpaid becomes the burden of the family of the elderly person.

- Medicare - Medic Aid - Elderly Care - Social Security - Philadelphia Corporation for the Aging.

Elderly people can also have a great life living in a nursing home. Some patient have each other while living in a nursing home. Some just make the best of it.

A Nursing home is A home for the elderly paitents if they can live at home by themselves, or if they have no family member to help them. This living place provides a type of care for the residents who lives there.

Doctors Nurses- RNS, CNAs Physical Therapists Occupational Therapits Food Service Activity Coordinators

I feel that every elderly patient should be treated with the love and care. Also I feel that they should stay active.
