Every word of God is tested… Proverbs 30:5

 His word is sure and never broken.  Numbers 23:19 --“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent; has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

 Isaiah 46: “Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure’”…

 Romans 1: …which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord….

Matthew 5:17 -- “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.” Luke 24:27 – “Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.”

Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Matthew 21:42 – “Jesus said to them, ‘Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, this became the chief corner stone; this came about from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes.’” Luke 4:20-21 – “And He began to say to them, ‘Today this Scripture has been fulfilled I your hearing.’”

Acts 3:18 -- But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures

“…you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For this is contained in Scripture: ‘Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, and He who believes in Him will not be disappointed.’”

Matthew 2:4-6 --Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written by the prophet: ‘And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah; For out of you shall come forth a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’”

Jesus didn’t just waltz into the scene. Jesus couldn’t just do His own thing. Jesus couldn’t prove Himself to be Messiah if He couldn’t fulfill the prophecies. God did everything according to a plan.

Timing is everything! How many prophecies? When were all these things written? How important is this to understanding Jesus as the Messiah?
