Pierre Fauchard

As a dental technician you will be responsible for the design of a restoration and will ultimately contribute to It’s success or failure Therefore it is a good idea to be aware of some design principles

Porcelain was successfully used in dentistry when the technique to fire all porcelain jacket crowns on a platinum matrix was developed.

The metal ceramic restoration became commercially available in the 1950s

Metal ceramic restorations consist of a metal substructure supporting a ceramic veneer that is mechanically and chemically bonded to it.
