7 Reverse layer into matrix
Note: With the composite technique, it’s called reverse layering.  The laboratory will put in the enamel and occlusal, then set it within the matrix – not on the model.  This creates a shell which the technician will then fill with dentine (the approximate amount needed based on the size of the nucleus Ti framework) and then apply the matrix to the model and light cure the layered crown within the matrix directly onto the opaqued Atlantis Crown Abutment titanium nucleus.  The laboratory basically building the crown in reverse in the matrix and then bonding the cured crown together to the abutment, it’s a technique that takes some practice and there are obviously runoffs for any excess dentine to flow out of as we always go a little over, you’d not want to have under filled and need to fill a void between the outer shell and abutment!
