Measurements

Weight: Standard Measurements 16 ounces = 1 pound 2000 lbs = 1 ton

So , how would we convert 5 lbs. 6 oz to ounces? 5 x 16 = 80 80 oz + 6 oz = 86 oz

What if we wanted to convert 344 oz to pounds? This means we have , 21 lbs and 8 oz

A car weighs 5,000 lbs. How many tons is that? 2,000 lbs = 1 ton So, 5,000 / 2,000 = 2.5 tons

U.S Measurement Lengths foot yard=3 feet eighth mile = 220 yards = 660 feet quarter mile = 440 yards = 1320 feet half mile = 880 yards = 2640 feet mile = 1760 yards = 5280 feet

How many yards is 2miles? We are stretching numbers, so we multiply 1,760 x 2 = 3,520 yds How many ft in 2 miles 5,280 x 2 = 10,560 ft

What if you had to figure how many miles in 11,440 yards Now you are shrinking the number you want 11,440 / 1760 yards = 6.5 miles

U.S. volume units are used to measure liquid Teaspoons Tablespoon = 3 teaspoons Fluid ounce = 2 tablespoons, 6 teaspoons Cup = 8 fluid ounces, 16 tablespoons Pint = 2 cups, 16 fluid ounces Quart = 2 pints, 4 cups Gallon = 4 quarts, 8 pints, 16 cups

How to remember some of this! 1 gallon = 4 quarts = 8 pints =16 cups Is there any pattern there? Just remember there are 4 quarts to a gallon Then double it for pints And double that for cups

How many qts, pints, cups in 3 gallons of tropical mango Gatorade 3 x 4 qts = 12 gallons Double the 12 to get 24 pints Then double the 24 to get 48 cups

Thanks for paying attention I’ll bring some free Gatorade next time.
