Structure of Liberal Studies Independent Enquiry Studies Choose any topics in the areas of media or ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Collect relevant data, evidence and information. Analyze and evaluate your findings. Present your findings through appropriate means and media.

Structure of Liberal Studies Independent Enquiry Studies There are 5 deadlines to turn in the various stages of your project. One IES lesson is allocated in S.4. NO IES lesson is allocated in S.5. Three IES lessons are allocated in S.6. CS and MO will supervise the progress of your IES.

Examination Format 1. Public Examination: 80 marks Paper 1 – Data-response questions (50 marks) Paper 2 – Extended-response questions (30 marks) 2. School-based Assessment: 20 marks Independent Enquiry Study

After studying three years of Liberal Studies, you will … have an understanding of yourselves, your society, your nation, the human world and the physical environment. be independent thinkers who can think from multiple perspectives. be able to make criticisms using objective evidence.

After studying three years of Liberal Studies, you will … possess critical thinking skills, problem- solving skills, communication skills and information technology skills. become informed and responsible citizens.

To prepare for this new challenge, you should … read the newspapers (both Chinese and English) EVERY DAY. read diversely. Try to cover as many topics as you can. read the EDITORIALS always! listen to opinions from different people. form your own opinions after considering different perspectives.
