President John Adams

John Adams was born in the village of Braintree(Quincy), Massachusetts in He was the son of militia lieutenant, John Adams Sr. and Susanna Boylston. He attended Harvard University and graduated in After college he taught school for a few years in Worcester. In 1758 he was admitted to the bar and served as a lawyer. John Adams was a supporter of the Federalist Party. John Adams believed in a representative government. Adams served as a diplomat in Europe and helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris.

The XYZ Affair was a political problem from XYZ is named for three French diplomats, whose names were found in documents released by John Adams. American diplomats were sent to France to discuss problems that could have possibly broken out into war. After failure, the Quasi- War, which was an undeclared naval war, began. All of this happened while John Adams was serving his term in office. He delivered the XYZ Affair Speech that summarized what was happening and said that congress needed to fund a navy. VS
