ECTODERMAL DYSPLASIA – DENTAL CALAMITY IN YOUR MOUTH. By Dorota Grela

WHAT IS IT? A large group of inherited disorders that are defined by primary defects in the development of 2 or more tissues, derived from embryonic ectoderm. According to the Staff at the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasia, this disease affects 2 per births for all forms of ED.

80% of persons with ED have a form that affects teeth!!!

EXPECTATIONS, PROGNOSIS IT WILL NOT SHORTEN THE LIFESPAN, BUT CONSTANT ATTENTION TO TEMPERATURE IT WILL NOT SHORTEN THE LIFESPAN, BUT CONSTANT ATTENTION TO TEMPERATURE REGULATION HAS TO BE TAKEN. REGULATION HAS TO BE TAKEN.

PREVENTION If you have a family history of Ectodermal Dysplasia and you are planning to have children, genetic counseling is recommended.
