By Rezwana Islam Hello everyone. Good afternoon. My name is Rezwana Islam. I am a Liberal Arts major. I am considering to be an elementary teacher in the future. So, I did some research on the career field that I want to pursue. Those of you who are considering to be a teacher in the future, I hope my presentation will be helpful for you.

Elementary Teacher Job description: A teacher works with students and help them learn concepts in different subjects. Plan and prepare training materials and decide how to best present them in class. Observe and evaluate students’ achievement and their potential for learning more advanced materials. As we all agree, teachers play a vital role in the development of children. What children learn and experience during their early years can shape their views of themselves and the world and can affect their future success or failure in school.

Salary range and employee benefits: The average annual starting salary for those with a bachelor’s degree is about $29,500. With a master’s degree about $35,500. Experienced teachers earn between $42,000-$50,000 per year. 401 (K) plus health insurance including spouse and children

Future Outlook: The employment opportunities are expected to be quite favorable over the next 10 years. Job prospects will be better in large cities and rural areas.

Licensing: All states and the district of Colombia require a public school teachers to be issued a license. In order to be issued a license, one generally must pass an exam that demonstrate competency in basic skills and proficiency in his or her subject area.
