 It is estimated that there are 20 to 30 million species of insects.  90% of all animal species are insects.

 92,000 insect species have been identified in the United States and Canada.

 There are 4,000 species of mammals.  There are 9,000 species of birds.  In comparison, 3,500 species of cockroaches alone have been identified!
