The Power of Identity

Identity Summary Throughout this presentation we will see a number of people who have made an impact on the world. We will learn through those good and bad the impact that just one individual can have. We will learn about our own identities as well, through examining those who have changed history.

So Who Are We Anyway? How do we discover who we really are? What actions change the world? Why can one person make a difference? When do we know if we are someone, or if we are just everyone? Who are those who have made a change and what are their similarities and differences?

Who Changed the World through Action? Martin Luther King Jr. changed the world for the better. HYPERLINK " bio.html" bio.html HYPERLINK " bio.html" bio.html Charles Manson changed the world for the worst. HYPERLINK " murder_1.html" murder_1.html

Changing the World through Emotion. Maya Angelou changed the world with her poetry. Dr. Seuss changed the world through stories. HYPERLINK " HYPERLINK " HYPERLINK " me&isbn=&catalogID=&eventID" me&isbn=&catalogID=&eventID HYPERLINK " me&isbn=&catalogID=&eventID" me&isbn=&catalogID=&eventID

Take a Look Inside… Here are some quizzes to take in order to find our individual identity… HYPERLINK " quiz?gatherer_id=100332&gclid=CKb219mBk5sCFRlcagodaWmLqA" quiz?gatherer_id=100332&gclid=CKb219mBk5sCFRlcagodaWmLqA HYPERLINK " HYPERLINK " HYPERLINK " HYPERLINK " However, what do these quizzes tell us?

My Reflections, Your Reflections We have seen 4 different people who have made an impact on the world and examined their worlds. In a group come up with 10 reasons to answer each question. Prepare to Discuss. How have the actions and lives of MLK and Charles Manson made you feel about the impact of other’s actions? How have the written word of Maya Angelou and Dr. Seuss caused you to reflect on the power one person has?

My Reflections, Your Reflections After taking the quizzes, which tell us about well, us we learned something about our identity. But what do we have in common with the 4 people we examined just a minute ago? Can we change the world just as they have?

. StudentsStephanie AmyTonyJoey Frowns0000 Smiles3210 Mean1213 Nice10 A survey was conducted to show how our personalities have an impact on those around us. 4 people tested their individual emotions on 40 students.

So When do We know If we are Someone? We know we are someone because we make our own choices. We control if we change the world, whether it’s a small impact or a large impact. We, as individuals change the world everyday.

Evaluate Ourselves Through personal reflections and historical research we have found that everyone is different, but our individual identity adds to the world and we have the power to take our individual identity to become anything we want and to change the world!
