 The respiratory System is what helps you breath so you can stay alive.  You can also get infections, diseases, and horrible Ailments if you don’t take care of your body  An example of a disease is Lung Cancer.

 Lung Cancer- is the growth of Abnormal cells in the lungs, it will then grow widely causing the shape of the lung to become abnormal causing Tumors to plug up the lung to stop the lung from functioning.  Living- If you have Stage 4 Lung cancer Then you only have a Year to live if you are fit enough.  Curable- No it’s not curable but it is treatable.

 Treatment- Today we use surgical resection, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy to try to cure people with lung cancer.  Medications- There are very powerful medications they use chemotherapy to kill cancer cells in the lungs  Side effects- Hair loss, some people have risk of serious infections

 Symptoms- early symptoms include a persistent cough that can be mistaken for a cold or bronchitis.  worsening breathlessness  weight loss  Excessive Fatigue  persistent pain in the chest or elsewhere, (possibly from the cancer spreading to a bone)  symptoms can be due to the original tumour in the lung or to the effects of secondary tumours elsewhere in the body  one of the most significant symptoms of lung cancer is coughing up blood. This can sometimes occur as an early warning sign of a cancer that may still be curable. Usually it’s a smoker over the age of 40

 Usually you get it from smoking for many years, or you can get it just from being unlucky and having un normal growth in your lungs.
