Concerning Facts  Phone conversations, rather than dialing is the most reported crash.  Drivers startled with phone rings  Hit cars or some form of large object that were in plain view.  Disrupt you by not being able to maintain speed limit and staying in your proper lane.

Statistics  80% of the 110 million cell phone subscribers talk and drive at the same time.  50% of calls on cells phones are personal calls  30% were used for emergencies  23% used for business.

Preventions  14 countries have banned drivers from using cell phones –Some of these countries have even banned the hands free handset

Fines  There are fines for people who violate the law of using cell phones while driving –First-time violators = $100 –Second-time violators =$200 –Subsequent violations =$500
