Cable Connectors For Video and Audio

XLR Most microphones in the studio will use XLR Cables.

Mini-Stereo (TRS) These are typically used for headsets and other small audio devices.

¼” Stereo (TRS) These cables are also used for headsets and other audio devices.

RCA These are typically used for composite audio and video.

BNC These cables can be used for video or audio devices.

Coaxial Cable These cables can be used for video and/or audio devices.

HDMI These cables send high-definition video and audio signals to an HDTV.

S-Video S-Video cables are used to send a video signal to a monitor or other device. These cables do not transmit audio.

FireWire These cables are similar to USB cables, but carry a significantly larger amount of data. They are frequently used to transfer video from a camera to a computer.

USB These cables are used for plug-and-play computer devices. These may be used to connect a camera to a computer.
