We discussed the wonderful African-American artist Faith Ringgold, who is best known for her painted quilts—art that combines painting, quilted fabric and storytelling. She combined the spirit of African art with images from her childhood in Harlem, New York City, and black American history. We shared her masterpiece titled, “The Sunflower Quilting Bee at Arles.” Your child used their creativity and imagination to produce their own art quilt masterpiece.
