The Olympic Games

Beginning in 776 BC, the first ancient Games were held in the Valley of Olympia in Greece .

Sportsmen competed in running, wrestling, jumping, throwing the discus ,chariot races. The Games were held over five days.

Thanks to Baron Pierre de Coubertin the Modern Olympic Games have been organized since 1896.
