Isaac God wanted to test Abraham’s faith ◦ Ordered him to sacrifice his only son ◦ Abraham new he had to listen, because we have to listen to God more than one’s family ◦ Abraham took Isaac to sacrifice him and just before he did it, an angel stopped him ◦ God rewarded Abraham by renewing the covenant through Isaac

Isaac Became the second patriarch of God’s people ◦ leader

Prefigurement Prefigurement ◦ The sacrifice that Abraham was going to make mirrored the sacrifice God would make of His son. ◦ Some person or event that happens before another event to which is similar in some way
