National Delta Tau Alpha September 2012

Hello! I hope everyone is off to a terrific start for the semester, and that you all had a successful summer of internships and relaxing! Fall brings a great opportunity to follow through with activities and fresh ideas. The National Council would like to encourage you and your chapters to pursue service opportunities to develop ethical characteristics within your schools and communities. Ideas for such activities can be found on the National DTA website under Chapter Info>Active>ACHS. Programs found on this website will certainly shine a positive light on your local DTA chapter, so I hope you take a look!

 Fort Hays State University- attended the Ag Dept. picnic, held officer elections, and initiated 5 new members on Sept. 11 th.  Missouri State University- hosted the School of Ag Mixer, planning a fall fun activity and a quiz bowl for this semester, thinking about starting “Ag tutors”

 Sam Houston State University- conducting a haunted house as a service project for a county fair, trick or treating for canned goods, making blankets for the Ronald McDonald House project

 Eric plans to find a career in the Agriculture industry that is hands-on and helps people.  He grew up on a dairy farm in northwest Missouri.  He loves being outdoors and hanging out with friends and family.  He also really likes winter!
