 Thunderstorms are usually a rain shower in which thunder and lightning occur. INFO: Weather 101

 Thunderstorms are caused by moisture, unstable rising air, and a lifting mechanism to provide a nudge.  Also caused by the collision of a warm and cold front. INFO: Weather 101 PICTURE: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/thunderstorms

 Thunderstorms can last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.

 Thunderstorms happen often during the afternoon hours of the spring and summer. INFO: Weather 101
