Relatively small storms accompanied by heavy precipitation, and often thunder and lightning
Form in large cumulonimbus clouds called thunderheads
Can cause a lot of damage from lightning, heavy rain, and flooding
During thunderstorms, avoid places where lightning might strike, and avoid metal objects and water (conductive materials)
