Forestry Definitions

BROADLEAF  Trees that have a wide- bladed leaf that flower.

CONIFEROUS(Conifer)  Trees with needles and usually have cones.

EVERGREEN  Keep their leaves all year long and remain green

DECIDUOUS  periodically loses leaves…usually in the fall.

MADRONA  a broadleaf evergreen. Stays green all year, but also flowers.

LARCH  a deciduous conifer with needle like leaves and cones. Cones turn yellow in fall and drop.

INVASIVE SPECIES  a plant or animal that is not native to a specific location; and has a tendency to spread and cause damage to the environment.
