Summary This section is about the different effects of bulimia. How it begins and the dangers of having this eating disorder. It also talks about why is it hard to diagnose.

The main idea The main idea of this section is to inform the reader about the dangers of bulimia.

Information Bulimia is a eating disorder where the individual goes on eating binges followed by purging or getting rid of the food they have eaten. It is difficult to diagnose because the behavior is done in private and the person seems normal. It begins with a diet but the person soon becomes unable to stop binging. They may suffer from dehydration and kidney damage. The enamel on he teeth become eroded from the stomach acid. Some experience vitamin and mineral defiance as well as tearing and bleeding of the tongue and gums. Bulimics often become depressed and may consider suicide or abuse alcohol other drugs. It is important that the class knows about this eating disorder because its mostly found among teenage girls.

Example An example of this disorder is a sixteen year old girl named Carmen. She was so concerned about her appearance that she started it like a diet. Then she couldn’t stop her self from purging. Her parents didn’t notice anything until they saw a extreme change of weight. Now she goes get professional help and has shown great improvement but sometimes she still has the urge to get rid of she ate.

Topic sentence I believe that the person who has this disorder must have an extremely low self-esteem to do such a tremendous damage to their bodies. In addition their other ways of loosing weight such as exercise and a healthy diet. The main thing the class should remember about this section is that bulimia is a really dangerous disorder and it is very difficult to stop binging.

Conclusion This section is very clear when it comes to the danger of bulimia. Like kidney damage and suffering with dehydration. It talked about how it begins. As well as why it is hard to diagnose. Plus it tell you the basics of bulimia.
