Duties of the Laboratorian It is very important to label only one patient’s supplies at a time, and to be completely finished with that patient before moving on to the next. All of the previous patient’s materials should be put away (DBS cards/malaria slides drying in boxes, trash thrown away) before labeling the next patient’s materials.
