CITIZENSHIP QUIZ For those that weren’t born here, it’s never been easy to become a citizen. In addition to passing a reading and writing test of English proficiency, all applicants must pass a new civics exam. The civics test is an oral exam, with an Immigration Services (IS) officer asking applicants 10 questions of out a possible 100.

1. Who elects the president of the United States?

2. How many amendments are there in the constitution?

3. What are the three branches of our government?

4. What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

5. Name the senators from your state. and

6. For how long do we elect a senator?

7. How many voting representatives are there in congress?

8. For how long do we elect the representatives?

9. What are the first ten amendments to the Constitution called?

10. Who is the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court?

11. There are four amendments to the constitution about who can vote. Describe ONE of them.
