April 2002, 2/9 bm:bwk, Federal Ministry of education, science and culture EU action plan eEurope 2000 Dr. Robert Kristöfl eFit Austria At the EU Summit in Feira/Portugal in June 2000 the developement of lifelong learning strategies was approved. Initiative of the Austrian Ministry for Education, Science and Culture for future oriented ICT-projects in education and training. One important focus is the building up of an Austrian portal for all educational services and eLearning initiatives. The European objective is the application and distribution of new information and communication technologies for the economic, social and cultural knowledge based future of the EU Member States.
