Information Literacy Is… the ability to identify what information is needed, understand how the information is organized, identify the best sources of information for a given need, locate those sources, evaluate the sources critically, and share that information

Information Literacy Is… the ability to access, evaluate, organize, and use information from a variety of sources

Information Literacy Is… the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information

Why Teach Website Evaluation? Students need tools to evaluate information Filters at school are not perfect Internet may not be filtered at home
