Problem: Create an illuminated letter that has the following: Large Letter BOLD outlines PATTERNS DESIGNS Incorporated into Letter COLOR TO MAKE CONTRAST BORDER

Research: What were Illuminated Manuscripts used for in the Middle Ages? What are the characteristics of Illuminated Letters? What is similar to this design in our age today?

Idea Generation: Choose a letter to illustrate. Look at the font style. Follow the problem.

Test Try out different patterns and letter combinations. Try out different media: sharpie, metallic colored pencil, metallic marker, metallic paint.

Final Solution Choose from your best idea/technique and apply your sketch to the good paper.
